Whether you’re 5 feet tall or 6 feet tall, it doesn’t mean jack squat when it comes to being a performer. You’ve either got it in you or you don’t. Bruno Mars at 5’5” has proved that again and again, year after year and shows the world that height doesn’t matter. Known for his singing, musicianship and dancing, as a performer he stands 10 feet tall! It would surprise most to know that there are plenty of “short” musicians and performers out there that proved just like Bruno Mars that height doesn’t matter.
The Piano Man, Billy Joel, known for hits like Uptown Girl, We Didn’t Start The Fire, My Life and Just The War You Are ( Hey, I’ve heard that title before! ) also stands at 5’5”. Billy Joel has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, a 5 time Grammy Award winner and has received a star in the Hollywood Walk of Fame. This is just a few of his achievements.
Another big entertainer know for being a part of the Rat Pack, an Emmy Winner and also known for hit songs like The Candy Man, Mr. Bojangles and I Gotta Be Me also stood at 5’5”. The one and only Sammy Davis Jr. was so popular, famous entertainers like Jim Carrey, Eddie Murphy, Billy Crystal, Tim Meadows, Don Cheadle and Eddie Griffin just to name a few have impersonated him on either shows, film or stand up routines.
Front man for The Four Season Frankie Valli, known for singing classics like Big Girls Don’t Cry, Sherry, Walk Like A Man and Rag Doll standing at 5’”5 is another great example of being able to accomplish so much starting from the 1950’s and until today. Starting to get the hint! Height really doesn’t matter.
Lastly, is 5’5” artist Van Morrison. If you’ve heard songs like Into The Mystic, Domino or one of my personal favorites Brown Eyed Girl, you’ll know that he was a true artist who I’m sure didn’t let anything hold him back from being one of the biggest and best singers, musicians and performers in the world. When you’re awarded an OBE award (Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) it must mean you’re doing something right.
